Intervention Support Service seeks to assist schools and organizations by providing teachers, school administrators, parents, and caregivers the skill set to prevent and manage disruptive behavior, within the natural context of the environment. We provide, on site in-service training programs, consultation services, and seminars for organizations working with children of all ages who display challenging behaviors.

We focus on pro-active strategies and recognize the importance of creating and maintaining physical and emotional safety. Crisis communication skills provided in our workshops prepare adults to function in a solution-oriented, rather than problem-oriented and reactive approach. Positive relationships are characterized by compassion, empathy, integrity, and tolerance. Through the processing of potential crisis situations, children learn to become self-managed and confident. Understanding that it is through conflict that we develop problem solving and coping skills allows us to accept crisis for what it is;
experiential learning.

  Speaking to a group of educators.

Empowering children to appropriately
self-advocate, and become their own risk managers, ultimately prepares them to face life’s challenges in more positive and productive ways. Providing an environment characterized by compassion, empathy, and safety assists in this process. Schools and programs that work with challenging behaviors need to develop strategies that will evoke positive and lasting behavior change.
